So Blessed!!!
As many of you have heard Nate and I are expecting in July! It seems so unreal how fast it's going and how everything is working out so perfect. I feel so blessed to be able to be pregnant and bring such a sweet spirit into this world.
When Nate and I first got engaged and talked about our future family we always said we were going to wait at least two years so we have time with each other and by then we should know what and where in life we are and which direction we were heading. About a year ago in nursing school we had our maternity class and I was so amazed by it, I was so anti- baby and finish school where I am so close, but after that class which should have probably scared me of ever giving birth it really opened my mind of having a baby and how big of a miracle the whole process is. That month I was also able to be in on a delivery and once again what a miracle it is. During the delivery and especially after the baby was born I just cried, it really is the most amazing thing and the biggest miracle on earth. So after that I knew I needed to stop being so hard headed and after many prayers Nate and I knew it was the right thing to do. But after our 2 year anniversary and months and months of tears and no 2 pink lines we started to worry. Luckily I have an amazing mother that works in this field. We found out I had (PCOS) polycystic ovary syndrome. Which pretty much means it's an imbalance of female sex hormones like estrogen and progesterone. It makes for irregular menses, cysts in the ovaries (which I don't think I have), and troubles with infertility. So we tried a few medications that try to level out your hormones and sometimes help enough to get pregnant. After months of nothing happening and finding out I don't even ovulate they brought out the big guns! Clomid, which stimulates the release of hormones necessary for ovulation to occur. It is mainly used for treating female infertility.Clomid is used to stimulate ovulation (the release of an egg) when a woman's ovaries can produce a follicle but hormonal stimulation is deficient. So we were told you try this for about 3 months and then after that you have to take quite the break so it doesn't cause any cysts because of all the estrogen. So directions is take day for 5 days , take one pill daily starting on day 4 of your cycle. So we tried the pills for the first month and on day 14 I went in and did blood work to see if I was ovulating and on day 14 my blood work showed nothing! Not ovulating one bit! That really was hard to hear, just like the last 9 months I really just thought it was so impossible for me to get pregnant. My mom told me some times the clomid takes a few months because your body just needs to realize what we were trying to do and not get too down. Usually on day 21 you also do blood work, but for some reason we didn't because we didn't think I even ovulated so no need to check my progesterone and really see if I ever peaked during ovulation.
So on Halloween day I was getting ready for a Halloween party and for some reason I remember my mom telling me sometimes at day 28 it shows up you were pregnant. I had a few tests and I thought oh what the heck I will try it. But every month taking a test and seeing it negative was so hard, I would cry seriously every time I saw that one line. So I took the test not thinking much of it just thinking it would turn out like the rest. I let the test sit for a few minutes walked out of the room came back in and saw one of the most amazing thing 2 LINES!!! The bottom one wasn't as dark as the top one, but like I said I had taken many tests and never ever once saw 2 lines! I dug into the box and got the directions out and read read read, finally it said if 2 lines show up one lighter than the other that means positive!! Oh my gosh I was going crazy! Nate was in class of course I tried calling my mom and sister no one answers! So Nate gets home I show him and he had to read the directions too, I still tried to not get to excited. So we went to the party not really thinking much of it then my mom finally called back and I told her and she said ASPEN THAT'S POSITIVE! So as soon as we got home I took another test same thing 2 lines! Then I couldn't take it I needed a digital one that says either pregnant or not pregnant! So at 11 pm we head to Wal-mart and buy a test. Like the first one I took it and walked out of the room so nervous gave it a few minutes came back in and it said PREGNANT! I started dropped and starting crying! I kept asking Nate how did this happen?? Like a typical man he spelled out S E X. I said no no not that ! I said my blood work said I didn't ovulate it just wasn't possible and once again my sweet husband said sometimes there are greater things than science and technology, heavenly father has more power than that. Immediately I called my mom crying and of course that night I downloaded every pregnancy app possible. That next day I went in for blood work to make sure my HCG level was going up and my progesterone was good. I did blood work weekly for about a month making sure we have a viable pregnancy and only one baby! ( the clomid is famous for multiples). Every week my pregnancy level rose higher and higher! Every test I took after that I kept! I think I have about 4-5 in a bag, disgusting yes, but you don't understand how long I have waited to see those 2 lines!!
I am just so so so so grateful for the power of prayer and fasting. We had done everything possible and never gave up hope. We are so lucky it worked our first time taking the clomid! It was fun because it was a surprise to us because of what the blood work said! I kept asking my mom after my blood work isn't there anyway it really could have worked and we missed where I ovulated? She kept telling me no, and like I had saw the blood work showed nothing, but like Nate said earlier. There are higher powers than science. Wow sorry that was so long, but I have been wanting to type up the story so I can remember it, so here it is! We are so excited to be parents and so be a part of this miracle. I am so grateful for my sweet husband that kept my spirits high month to month telling me it will happen when it's suppose to. I am not a patient person so that was hard for me to learn, but I truly think it happened when it truly was suppose to! I am so excited to be a mom!!! :)

Quick update!
So we are back up in Richfield and loving it! This year I am working full time while Nate is also working pretty much full time, but also trying to finish school. Nate has once again changed his major...Natural Resources. Which really is pretty close to Range and Wildlife Biology. But he is in a natural resource class here and loves it! He figured he could do so much more places with natural resources so I hope he continues to love it and keep that enthusiasm. He is also working at IFA and he really does like that! He works almost every weekend which isn't too fun but oh well!! A job is a job now a days!
As for me I got the dream job I wanted for right now! I am working at the Richfield clinic which is part of intermountain healthcare. In the future I would like to work at a intermountain hospital so this is getting my foot in the door. I work with the best ladies and doctors!! I absolutely love going to work and being there. I am loving our life right now! We moved into a new apartment which is awesome and we love, we have great family's, great friends, and of course each other so life is so awesome!!
This weekend my little brother took some pics of Nate and I. I have been asking him forever to do a photo shoot for us and after endless months of nagging it worked and at the perfect time! So here are a few pics! He is amazing! And to think he isn't even majoring in photography! :)

Spring Has Sprung!!
This year for spring break Nate and I wanted to do something fun, go somewhere that is actually going to be warm so that's exactly what we did!! My grandparents go and snowbird for the winter down in Yuma AZ which is right on the border of Mexico.

The drive there was long and straight, but we just kept watching the the temperature raise so that made it better! We stayed with my grandparents a few days and had a lot of fun! They took us around the lettuce fields, the date farm, the nut factory and just a bunch of different things. The last day we went into Mexico.... Before the trip I tried to talk Nate into getting a passport, but he refused to pay the money! We tried to take his birth certificate and everything to see if they would let him in...well really the problem would be getting him out. So we went to US customs before and tried to talk to them and they were RUDE! We just played it safe and he went back to my grandparents while me and my grandparents went into Mexico. It was so much fun, I hated not having Nate in there cause he would have loved it!!!!! He would have talked about it for years... But now he says next time for sure he is getting his passport. I got some great deals down there below the border and got Nate and I some great little souvenirs. The weather was great, in the 80's. never dropped below 60. The day we went into Mexico it was windy and about 65 degrees, it was so funny because all the little Mexican's had their full winter coat on with sweaters under just freezing.... little do they know how cold UTAH is!
Grandpa insisted we got our shoes Shined!
So after Yuma we headed up toward Phoenix. Nate has always wanted to go to spring training even if the Braves don't come to Arizona he has always wanted to go watch Texas. We stayed in Phoenix for 2 days and went to the Texas Rangers game and they played the White Sox, We sat on the front row and just soaked up the sun! We want to make this a tradition every year! It's so much cheaper than during the season and your so much closer to the players, they come over a lot more and talk and well its warm!! :) Then we decided to go to the Phoenix Suns game. Nate has never been to an official basketball game so we finally did clear down in Phoenix. They played the Mavericks which made it even better. We sat 4 rows from the top, but we had a lot of fun! Nate caught a t-shirt and it was an intense game ! We had such a great spring break!!We have LOVED the weather warming up and trying to do as much as we can!!! School is going great for both of us, We will be moving back down to Kanab for the summer and then back to Richfield for next year. We really like Richfield!! :) So I will post some pics of what we have been up to!!!

Bull Down.....
This all started last June with one phone call from my dad I will never forget.. He told me I had drawn for a big bull elk tag!!! I started to cry I was so excited.... I have been dreaming of this tag since I was little. I have hunted with my dad since I remember so this was HUGE! My dad was so excited... it has been so cute watching how excited he has gotten all over this hunt. So my tag was on a CWMU tag on the Fish Lake unit called the BAR J. It is an awesome place! One of the most beautiful places ever. ( no lie)So my hunt was September 27th-October 1st. During the rut... perfect time! My dad and Nate and gone up every morning they could for weeks to scout. It drove them nuts being on the out side of the fence and not hunting, but patience men!!! So trying to fit this hunt in with nursing school was crazy... but it all just fell into place. I was supposed to have a Pharmacy test the second day of the hunt, but turned out it got moved to the next week, then the rest of the week was really slow so it was perfect.

The opening morning of the hunt Nate woke up countless times asking if it was time yet... it was pretty funny! But see I had Pass Off's that day... go in pass off a skill and chart and all this. So I didn't hunt opening morning. But I finished early and we headed up at about noon. I got home to change and Nate had me packed , my back pack ready, camelback filled, camo out, he was like a little boy! So we got up there and hiked down into the ranch, as soon as we stepped into the ranch elk were all around us non- stop. I thought we were going to get trampled, they were seriously running all around us, bugling non-stop, fighting, all sorts of action going on. We saw about 30 bulls that night, but nothing we loved! It was so awesome... Nate now LOVES elk hunting! He can't believe how awesome it is...

The second day.... We got up on the hill about 3 due to school and got ready to hunt that night. Once again the elk were going crazy.. we didn't know which bugle to follow there were so many. We finally just started walking. We got into a bunch of elk and trying to catch up with a group we heard. We had seen a quick glimpse of a big one, but couldn't ever keep up with them... Those things can move!! It was all up hill.... Then we were walking and I saw a bull feeding and I told my dad, we got down on the shooting sticks, My dad and Nate looked down in the bino's and said it's not the big one, but he's a good one so shoot if you can. Well I shot.. he just stood there... so my dad said shoot again, so I did, and he dropped!! I remember seeing it in the scope and it was so awesome! I fell to the ground shaking!! I can not believe the adrenaline rush, and of course again started crying! It was such an awesome moment. My dad and Nate were so excited, my dad gave me the biggest hug. He was so happy! I loved it.

It is something I will never forget... I will never get over the adrenaline rush it was. I loved every minute of it. I love hunting because of all the memories I have. My dad has told me so many stories while we have been hunting. I have been my dad's hunting buddy since I can remember. When Nate asked to marry me, my dad made him promise to keep me hunting and to come back and hunt with him. Awwww.... Cute! So sharing this moment with my two favorite men was priceless. Thanks DAD!! I love you!! I am so sad me and my dad didn't get a picture up on the hill... we were in such a hurry to get it out we totally spaced it! Something I regret! We got one at the truck, but just not the same.

PS... getting a full sized bull elk out of the back country... not recommended! longest night of my life!!!
The Best Time of The Year!!
It's finally fall!!!!! This is our favorite time of the year... although Nate says it means winter is around the corner and he HATES winter, but I told him to just enjoy right now! We are in Richfield now and we love it. Every weekend we have been either fishing, hunting, riding horses, or riding four wheelers so it has been great living back home and close to the mountains. Nursing school is going great!! I love it... although it is so busy and non- stop homework. I have already learned so much and just can't to get it finished. We have learned how to draw and give immunizations, how to pass medications, how to scrub in for surgery and LOTS of charting and I am sure more I have forgotten... But I love it all!!!

We also love the fall because of Nate's birthday!! His birthday is on September 24th, the perfect time of the year! For his birthday I wanted to really do something fun and surprise him. So I knew he had wanted to go fishing and go looking for elk so I just combined it all :) On Friday night I made Nate a fish cake! With only a few hours to do it, I was happy with it! Nursing school takes up every minute of my life so I wasn't able to spend much time on the cake....and I am not very creative, but he loved it and I was happy with it. Then me and my family gave him him presents... some camo and then I got him new binoculars that he loved! So the day of his birthday we went up and listened to elk and got all excited about the hunt, then that afternoon my family and Nate headed up to Fish Lake! I had rented a platoon boat all day to go fishing on... it was the best day! We caught lots of fish and had such a great time! So his birthday was a great success!! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE!! I love you!!
